Residents Dive into Hydrotherapy Pool for Enriching Experience

In an effort to enhance the wellbeing and recreational activities of our residents, we arranged a refreshing visit to the hydrotherapy pool at Allander Leisure Centre. Recognising the therapeutic benefits of hydrotherapy, the team diligently sought out opportunities within the local community. Thanks to the dedication of the Recreation Team Lead, Lorraine, a partnership with Allander Leisure Centre was established, allowing for exclusive access to the hydrotherapy pool.

Lorraine, who played a pivotal role in organising this initiative, successfully secured a slot for Westerton Care Home to visit the pool for an hour each month. This strategic allocation aligns with the facility's commitment to integrating diverse and stimulating activities into the residents' routine, fostering a holistic approach to care.

The primary objective behind this endeavour is to incorporate hydrotherapy swimming sessions as an additional component of the residents' Comprehensive Assessment and Person-Centred Plan (CAPA).
