Residents Enjoy Visit to Museum

Residents & Staff at Museum

In June, some of our gentleman residents paid a visit to the Riverside Museum, which is just a short drive from Westerton Care Home. These history aficionados had a brilliant day taking in all of the exhibits and getting lots of photos, alongside some of our nurses who were able to go with them.

The Riverside Museum is home to some of Glasgow’s most extensive transport and technology collections, which all play a key part in the city’s rich and vibrant history. These collections have been built and created over a span of many centuries, and with each little detail, an equally important part of Glasgow’s story is celebrated and revealed.

Although it only opened in 2011, Riverside Museum has been well and truly thriving over the course of the last 11 years. With over 3,000 objects stored inside, this project-turned-museum is one bursting with history, culture and excitement. That’s exactly why some of our lovely residents decided they wanted to visit, and we were more than happy to assist them with their endeavours.

Here at Westerton Care Home, we love to organise day trips for our residents to enjoy. Days out and about often encourage our residents to explore the local area and gain lots of new insight into the world around them. Our day trips and excursions have also been known to improve the mental and emotional well-being of our residents.

Our team members are always open to new ideas and suggestions from our residents and their friends and family members. If there’s somewhere local our residents might enjoy visiting, or perhaps somewhere a little further from home, our Activity Coordinators will be more than happy to get something organised and put into our fun-filled activities programme

If you would like to contact Westerton Care Home with a question or query, our friendly team will be happy to help you. Call 0141 942 5834 or send an email to info@westertoncarehome.com to get in touch with us.
